eXploder Foiling Moth 2024

The second-generation eXploder Moth, designed by Gonzalo Redondo, builds on the experience and lessons of the original platform. Drawing from extensive testing and world-class sailor feedback, this 2024–2025 model represents a refined leap in high-performance foiling monohull design.

A massive effort by D3 Applied Technologies was undertaken to step up the design tools and simulation processes — approaching the project with the same depth and precision typically reserved for America’s Cup-level development. From CFD optimization to structural analysis and foil refinement, every component was modeled and tested to deliver measurable performance gains.

The project was shaped in closed collaboration with a top-tier R&D group — including Diego Botin, Iain Jensen (“Goobs”), Phil Robertson, Kyle Langford, and Tom Johnson.
